Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival

A Huge Catch For The Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival

About the Organization

The Richmond Hill-Bryan County Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its 23rd Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival, a weekend of food, live music, rides, and dozens of vendors to shop from. The event started as a way to put Richmond Hill on the map, and it’s only grown since then. It brings thousands of people to the area and helps the community by spotlighting the small businesses and non-profits that are there, all while being a fun, family-friendly fall outing.

Challenges

Checking in or buying tickets is one of the first in-person experiences your guests will have when arriving at your event. Not only has Brushfire made the check-in process as efficient as possible, but we have also streamlined the walk-up ticket sales process to ensure your guests spend less time waiting in lines and more time enjoying all your event has to offer.

Solutions

BF partnered with the GOSF to help welcome their festival guests with just 2 volunteers checking in those already with tickets and 7 volunteers with iPads + Square readers doing walk-up ticket sales. This small team was able to oversee over 22,000+ attendees arriving at this 3-day event, with almost 12,000 guests utilizing online ticket pre-sales, and almost 10,000 guests purchasing admission tickets on-site the day of the event.

GOSF also utilized Brushfire to centralize the selling of beverage tickets that attendees could redeem at different drink stations throughout the park (on-site only) AND special armbands for the carnival section of the festival (available for pre-sale and on-site). Once again, the simplistic nature and ease of use of the Brushfire platform allowed GOSF to gross over $100k in beverage sales and another almost $15k in carnival armbands.

Furthermore, GOSF made the decision in the past few years to keep these ticket sales cashless. And between the online ticket sales and the use of Square for on-site ticket sales, GOSF is still seeing increasing revenues. While their beer sales increased 16% from 2021 to 2022, their overall event revenue saw a 22% increase as well! Brushfire was able to provide the tools and means necessary to ensure GOSF had another successful event in the books.

"We chose to initially work with Brushfire because the system was easy to work with and user-friendly for our teams. We chose to keep using Brushfire time and time again because of the people; the team is incredible and have always been there to help us solve our next problem."
